The cost of producing vehicles is down because of SCM and web-based purchasing. Also, eBay has become the leading U.S. used-car dealer, and most major car sites are profitable. Rather than browsing and purchasing vehicles straight from the dealership like how it used to be in the past, customers are starting to get into online purchasing websites like carmax.com. Car companies like Acura to name a few learned to adapt by posting vehicles at their dealerships on websites like craigslist.com to attract future customers.

Traditional forms of business are not good enough in the global environment. This is why Dell Uses the Internet to link suppliers and customers. By doing so, Dell's operating margins rose from 7.3% in 2002 to 8% in 2003. Many other electronics company are following the trend and are selling their products on the Internet like Newegg.com where you can purchase electronics for a cheaper price on products compared to walking in a retail store. This is also popular to buyers since it is more convenient for customers purchasing electronics on the Internet since they do not have to leave their homes.

Entertainment industry falls due to online businesses!

Napster and Limewire are one of the many online sites that is contributing to the $35 billion annual online downloads destroying traditional sale of music. Since 2000, music sales are down 20% and people believe it won't stop there. Movie-goers are also finding alternative ways to watching films without actually going to the theater or even paying at all. Ninjavideo.net and Hulu.com for example, they release new and old movies, even television episodes. Some people are find excellent quality video and some not worth watching at all but regardless of quality many people are still watching movies and other videos online.

Before eBay.com and Amazon.com less than 5% of sales were online, however, since then many of the top e-businesses are now one of the nation's top retailers. Online sales are booming for many retailers such as Wal-mart, many other businesses are forced to invest in technology just to compete. Not only are businesses selling their products online but they depending on the internet for exposure, cheaper marketing, and on-going awareness of their brand. Every brand, product, service, and company has expanded their business online.
